Jwar Meetro is a graduate of the Bachelor’s and Masters toxicology programs at the University of Guelph. As a Scientific Consultant 1 of Safety & Regulatory Affairs within the Food & Nutrition Group at Intertek Health Sciences Inc., Jwar offers scientific support for submissions related to food ingredients, food enzymes, and food additives from both safety and exposure aspects.
She is involved in the preparation of successful submissions and notifications for review by global regulatory agencies and organizations including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Health Canada, Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ), the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), and the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA). Jwar has also been involved in publication of safety data for novel food ingredients and processing aids in scientific peer-reviewed journals.
Jwar supports the Intakes Team with accurately establishing dietary exposure for food ingredients and additives as part of safety evaluations in various jurisdictions. She is familiar with using data from nationally representative food consumption surveys, including surveys available from the United States, the European Union, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico.
